On International Women’s Day 2006 FAFIA participated in both a press conference and a rally around child care. Several media outlets aired the stories on television and in a couple of cases the video is available online.
 
Press conference

This press conference aired on CPAC and CTV Newsnet.  This press conference on child care was jointly organized by FAFIA, the National Association of Women and the Law (NAWL), the Child Care Advocacy Association of Canada (CCAAC), and the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC).

Rally

FAFIA participated in this child care rally on Parliament Hill through the Coalition for Women’s Equality (CWE).  The spokesperson for the CWE at the rally was Lise Martin of the Canadian Research Institute on the Advancement of Women (CRIAW).
