A petition is being circulated across Québec by the Bloc Québécois,
calling on the Prime Minister to honour his commitment to uphold women’s
human rights (read Stephen Harper’s letter to FAFIA here [0]) by:
- immediately re-establishing the Court Challenges Program;
- re-instating the previous criteria for the Women’s Program; and
- re-opening the twelve regional Status of Women offices that closed
on March 31.
The petition should be sent to the Bloc Québécois Status of Women
critic, Ms Nicole Demers who plans to present it in the House of Commons.
Petitions need to be submitted with original signatures by October 16 and mailed to:
