The Canadian Feminist Alliance for International Action (FAFIA) is an alliance of equality-seeking women's organizations, related organizations and individual women working towards women's equality in Canada.

To this end, FAFIA focuses its work on increasing domestic implementation of Canada's international human rights commitments.

We invite you to join us in this work.

FAFIA's goals are to:

  • make links between international instruments and agreements and domestic policy-making;
  • provide education and information regarding Canada's human rights obligations and compliance with them to Canadian women's organizations, women and other members of the public
  • support the capacity of women's organizations to work at the international level; and
  • hold Canadian governments accountable to the commitments to women that they have made under international human rights treaties and agreements, including the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) and the Platform for Action (PFA).

FAFIA provides its members, partners & friends with:

  • opportunities to connect and strategize;
  • relevant updates and training;
  • opportunities to participate in successful campaigns to further women's equality in Canada; and,
  • excellent discounts on FAFIA's publications and events.

FAFIA invites equality-seeking women's organizations to be our Members, related organizations to be our Partners, and individuals to be our Friends. Memberships will be reviewed by the FAFIA Steering Committee to ensure that all organizations or individuals meet the stated criteria.
